Skips
Broken glass and rusty metal water tanks were everywhere – I filled four skips with the stuff!

Broken glass everywhere
In one area I just kept digging and finding broken glass. After four barrow loads I stopped digging, covered it in a layer of old bricks and filled it in again!
After the tree work, and while waiting for the planning permission, there was loads of work to do clearing away more of the dense undergrowth plus disposing of masses of old metal tanks, angle iron, barbed wire, broken glass, old greenhouses plus a ‘lost’ shed and its contents.

Old greenhouses
Here’s the old metal greenhouse – tough to reach but believe it or not there was another bigger wooden one behind it!

Old shed before
I found an old concrete shed that was worth restoring – once I dug it out of the masses of ivy that had swallowed it.

Old shed after
Here’s the restored shed after a serious hair cut, plus two new doors and window glass (at the sides).
The whole shed has since been sprayed the same colour as the doors and so blends into the background.
There’s one of the old greenhouses, less its glass, ready to be moved.
