The Old Wooden House
The old house was built in 1948 from a factory produced kit. The second owner, immediately prior to us, had lived there from 1958 to around 2008. Surprisingly there was no insulation of any kind in the very thin walls or even the roof.
We bought the old house in April 2010, a few home improvements had been done over the years, but little had been done on the grounds since the early 80’s.
The New Eco House
We built our new eco friendly home in Devon, UK, over three years.
It incorporates lots of energy efficient and environmentally friendly features such as massive levels of insulation, heat recovery, ‘A-class’ argon filled double glazing in the windows and doors, plus rainwater harvesting and much more – click Eco House for more detail.
